The time has come to officially hang up my year on film. Not long ago, my girlfriend and I had an extra two weeks on our hands to explore the west coast. It was her first time in America and what better way to experience it than doing a classic road trip. We rented an Audi Q5 from Silvercar by Audi to help bring life to this experience. From the Pacific Northwest of Washington and Oregon to Los Angeles and Yosemite National Park, this roll is evidence of Kodak’s film performance and its beautiful spectrum of vibrant colors.

Personally, the underlining benefit with 35mm film photography is represented in each click of the shutter. Your composition and timing are paramount with a limited amount of do-overs. It comes as no surprise that after a year of shooting exclusively on film, I’ve gotten pretty good at making use of each frame.

As they say, practice makes perfect. It’s only fitting that after all this time and sixty rolls later, I’m hanging my hat up and storing the rolls deep in a time capsule. Someday, when I’m much older and perhaps have some kids of my own, I can show them what my life was like in 2019 on film.

In an effort to support my photography work, I’ve selected just one image from this roll to be available for purchase. My good friend Juan from Photo Innovation Lab out of Chicago will ship all orders free of charge and flat without a frame.
